- Choose the right type of boat: There are many different types of boats available for hire in Numana, so it is important to choose one that is right for your needs and group size. If you are looking for a relaxing experience, a sailboat or catamaran might be a good option. If you are interested in exploring the coastline, a speedboat or RIB might be a better choice.
- Book in advance: Boat trips can be popular, especially during the peak season, so it is best to book in advance to avoid disappointment.
- Consider the time of day: The best time of day for a boat trip is typically in the morning or early evening, when the temperatures are cooler and the sun is not as strong.
- Be prepared for the weather: The weather in Numana can change quickly, so it is important to be prepared for anything. Bring sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and a raincoat or jacket, just in case.
- Pack some snacks and drinks: You can bring your own snacks and drinks on board, or you can purchase them from the boat operator.
- Relax and enjoy the ride!: Boat trips are a great way to see the beautiful coastline of Numana and relax on the water. So, sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride!
Things to See in Numana and Surroundings
Numana
- Get to know Numana quickly: it is a pretty and well-kept town.
- Viverenumana is located in the heart of the town, between the town hall and the church. A few meters away you will find the belvedere of Piazza Nova, a real balcony of Numana overlooking the sea of the Riviera del Conero.
- From there you can admire the beautiful beach of Numana Alta (Sottosanta/dei Frati and la Spiaggiola) and Mount Conero plunging into the sea.
- Going along the main road in a southerly direction you will reach a second belvedere from which you can observe the port, the gulf of Numana bassa, the southern coast up to Civitanova and the Marche hinterland with all the Apennines from the Sibillini to the Gran Sasso.
- Don’t miss “La Torre”, the fisherman’s statue, the costarella, all the alleys of the center and the Antiquarium with Piceni remains behind the town hall.
Sirolo
- I’m not a localist, on the contrary! If you walk from the Piazza in a northerly direction in less than 10 minutes you will reach the walls of this village overlooking the sea: don’t miss the belvedere on the bay of Urbani San Michele and Sassi neri.
Ancona
- Ancona is a city with great charm (for those who know how to visit it).
- Don’t miss the Duomo: Its peculiarity is the sea on 2 of its 3 sides and the Duomo on top of the highest hill in the city, right above the port overlooking the sea. (not in the city center as in any place in Italy)
- The little church of Santa Maria della piazza is worth visiting for its early Christian remains (mosaics and wells).
- Piazza del Plebiscito possibly in the evening for the numerous activities that enliven its nightlife.
- The road that goes up to the Duomo will take you on a journey through time in which you will pass from the opus cementitia and spinata romana of temples, walls and amphitheater, to the granite blocks of the medieval walls that retrace the previous ones up to the Renaissance palaces built above these structures.
- Open-air mosaics and above all the municipal art gallery, Palazzo Ferretti with the National Archaeological Museum of the Marche, diocesan museum all within a radius of 500m. A dream.
- The war memorial with its huge white marble steps plunges into the beautiful sea of Passetto: if you take the Viale della Vittoria you will cut the city in a flash from side to side (from the sea to the port passing through Piazza Cavour and Corso Garibaldi)
Loreto
- Loreto is just 10 minutes away, a visit to the Basilica is a must.
- Beyond the obvious religious interest (house of the nativity and black madonna inside) it is a real artistic and architectural jewel.
Camerano
- Camerano is famous for its Piceni caves (and for the Rosso Conero festival in September): it can be a great alternative on a day of bad weather.
Osimo
- The same can be said for Osimo, a Romanesque town: it also has underground caves, but this time carved out by the Romans. (Excellent guided tour with very well-prepared staff).
Recanati
- Recanati to visit Leopardi’s birthplace, the annexed museum and Silvia’s house.
Offagna
- Offagna fortified village typically medieval, very suggestive and well preserved the Rocca.
Porto Recanati
- Porto Recanati is good for a walk, an ice cream at “Bianca menta” and a bit of shopping.
Other suggestions:
- Take a cruise to the 2 sorelle or a mini-cruise of the Conero. You will appreciate the most beautiful stretch of the Adriatic in central Italy.
We hope you have a pleasant stay.
